We recently shared the sad news that after more than seven years with the Elvis Duran and the Morning Show, Carolina Bermudez will be leaving her position as radio personality to pursue a television career. Bermudez remained tight-lipped about her future endeavors until today. After much anticipation, Bermudez finally announced on-air that she will be hosting a new morning show entitled ”Live From the Couch” on Long Island station and CBS affiliate WLNY-TV/Ch. 10/55.
According to the Daily News, John Elliott and Lisa Kerney, will be joining Bermudez as co-hosts on “Live From the Couch.” The show will air on weekdays from 7-9 a.m. beginning in early July. Elliott and Kerney, will continue heading weather and sports, respectively, for WCBS/Ch.2 during its weekday 4:30-7 a.m. newscast.
David Friend, senior vice president of news for CBS Television Stations had this to say about the morning show: “Live From the Couch” will be unlike any other morning show in New York. It will be a combination of news, talk and unpredictable fun.” This week is Bermudez’s last week on Z100 and in true Elvis Duran and the Morning Show fashion, it will likely be a week of shenanigans and celebrations. This morning, Bobby Flay, , chef and Food Network Extraordinaire, surprised Bermudez with a chocolate coconut cake and well wishes. We look forward to tuning in to Z100 for Bermudez’s final farewell and are excited to watch her on “Live From the Couch.”
