Now that the summer is rapidly approaching, the thought of being in a bathing suit is absolutely terrifying! Why is losing weight so difficult? I’m sure all the free lunches, happy hours, and sweet treats in and out of the office are not helping. After much thought, I realized the reason it’s so hard to lose weight is that there is no accountability. There is no one that you have to check in with and no one saying, “Hey get your fat ass to the gym!” This is why everyone should do a weight loss contract.
Lucy, Tyler & I all recently signed a weight loss contract. Why you ask? We all want to lose weight but are struggling to do so. I thought if we do it together and support each other we will have success and FINALLY drop the unwanted pounds. We are so serious about it that we actually had one of our coworkers be a witness and a coach! I know this all may sound a little crazy, but I have done this in the past with another girlfriend and it 100% works. I think it may have something to do with signing a document vowing you will in fact drop X amount of pounds by a certain date.
Here is an example of the contract I forced my fellow Renegade Chicks to sign:
We hereby agree and commit to take the following steps (starting April 30th, 2012) to improve our accountability to ourselves and increase chances for weight loss success:
1. We will work out a minimum of 4 times every week! We realize we are busy, and will add extra walking and will exercise in the morning if we cannot work out after work.
2. We will log into myfitnesspal every single day no matter what we have eaten or what we weigh! This will help us stay on track.
3. We will do everything in our power to lose a minimum of 8lbs by June 1, 2012 and 15 lbs by July 1, 2012.
4. We will make every effort to bring our lunches and snacks, eat right, and drink (5-6 glasses) of WATER every day.
If you have some unwanted weight that you would like to get rid of by summer, I suggest you talk to your friends and come up with a contract. We will keep you posted of our future success!
