Ways to Stay Happy in Your Relationship (Even When You’re Busy!)

>

Being in a relationship comes with priceless wonders—love, sex, trust, but it also comes with some challenges.

It’s particularly difficult if you and your significant other are trying to balance out different schedules. Your lives may actually be getting in the way of seeing one another, especially if you’re in school, have a job (or several), work at an internship, have homework to do and want to have a successful social life and see your friends and family.  Seeing one another starst to feel like an extra item you have to add to your to-do-list among many other things—it can become stressful. Nobody wants that, right?

These tough times can really test the durability of your relationship as well as how both of your personalities respond to such situations.

Here are some ways in which you can positively tackle these busy times in your relationship to make sure that both you and your partner are satisfied emotionally, mentally and physically:

Communicate. I truly believe that communication is key in a relationship—not just romantic ones but especially those. If you’re having a rough time properly balancing everything out don’t keep it to yourself, it’ll just add stress on top of everything else. Talk to your guy (or girl) and let them know what’ going on—they can comfort you, love you and help you.

Plan ahead. If you know that you’re going to have a hectic couple of days or weeks, work with your schedule and try to plan for days that you know you’ll be available.  This allows you to avoid unnecessary drama and guarantees that you’ll both be able to see one another

Compromise. Let’s say you work early mornings and he works into the evening, he loves to go out but you love to stay in—just because you’re tired and want to chill at home doesn’t mean he should too. It’s important to be flexible with your partner even if your schedule isn’t.

Show your love. Being affectionate can manifest in many forms. Whether you surprise him with dinner or her favorite flowers, a small act will not go unnoticed. No matter how you choose to show your love, there is no doubt that your partner will be happier—and if you’re barely seeing one another, it will make all the difference.

Get some sexual healing. If your schedules are all over the place it might get a bit harder to enjoy each other physically. If you and your partner value sex then make time for it and avoid getting in a dry spell. In fact, I’m sure having an orgasm or two might make you forget about your stress while also feeling great!

It’s important to respect your commitment to your relationship as well to other aspects of your life.  Sometimes relationships are literally flowers and kisses while other times they’re a little bit more complex—and when they are, just make sure to take some time to remind yourself why you’re in a relationship in the first place.
