Trend Alert: White Nail Polish
Nail trends seem to be all over the place: neons, ombres, dedazzled, geometric. It seems like the more you consult boards on Pinterest, the more you become confused about your next pick at the nail salon. So instead of discussing all these trends, we should talk about one that is white hot right now and suitable for any occasion (including the girls who always just want to be on trend).
White nail polish has always been reserved for that defined line on a french manicure, but it has recently come into its own as the new neutral of summer. Before I go further, let me clarify, I do not mean you should start using white out for your manicures like you may have done while bored during class in high school. This trend refers to those colors by Essie and OPI that have a white tone, but still remain tasteful.
If you want to test the waters and don’t really know if this trend is for you, try Essie’s Allure. This color is sheer enough to not really look pure white, but still gives you a white effect (hint: if you want to push the boundaries a bit more, do 3 coats for a little more oomph).
If you want to be a little more brazen, try Essie’s Waltz. This color looks very milky in the bottle, but goes on with a slight sheerness that makes it pop. For all you tan-obsessed, this has the ability to make your hands look a little more golden brown as well. Talk about bang for your buck!
And of course if you’re feeling frisky and want to take this trend to the max, try OPI’s Alpine Snow. This is white to the extreme! Without any sheerness, this color goes on bright white and really packs that wow factor.
So go ahead! Try out this trend and let us know what you think.
