Steven Tyler Leaves American Idol: Only Randy Jackson Left Standing?

People has just reported that Steven Tyler will not be returning to American Idol for a third season. Tyler says, “After some long … hard … thoughts … I’ve decided it’s time for me to let go of my mistress American Idol before she boils my rabbit,” the rocker said in a statement Thursday. “I strayed from my first love, Aerosmith, and I’m back – but instead of begging on my hands and knees, I got two fists in the air and I’m kicking the door open with my band.”

So Tyler is out of the judges seat, and Jennifer Lopez has still not signed on for another season yet either since she (thanks to American Idol) also has a booming career ahead of her. It looks like only the strong (Randy Jackson) will survive.  My question to you all is: how long will Idol last? With heavy competition like X Factor (with judges Britney Spears & Demi Lovato), Duets and The Voice and without top notch celebs, it’s not looking good.  I hope Lopez stays on as I am a huge fan, without her and Tyler, I hate to say it, but this show may officially be on life support.
