Some Days You Wake Up and Larry David Photobombs Your Pictures

You know, I love the miracle of Facebook. Some days I don’t even bother to call or say hi to friends – I just check my news feed and I feel like I already know what’s going on. Just the other day, I was checking my feed and one of my friends, Robyn, posted great photos of her with Larry David, Eva Mendes, Liev Schreiber, and Kate Hudson filming Clear History. I was like, WOW, what?? And how did this happen?

My friend, Robyn, lives in a lovely rural area about an hour and a half from Boston. Instead of traffic jams, deer stampede on her lawn. Most would agree her lovely bucolic area is nothing like Hollywood. Which is why this is such a great story and one I had to share.

Robyn jumped at the chance to “volunteer” at her company’s promotional booth at Topsfield, the oldest county fair in the United States to pass tote bags and promotional materials to fairgoers. As we all know, hours spent at an office can sometimes feel so ho-hum. Anyway, she went and arrived in time to relieve co-workers at the booth and she was asked to sign a waiver. It mentioned a movie would be filming at the fair. Robyn didn’t think much of it.

However, when she saw Larry David and his band of merry actors come through and plop themselves within feet of her, she was pretty surprised and thrilled. She was quick to mention everyone at the set was very friendly. The cinematographers apologized for being a nuisance, and they worked around her while she manned her company’s booth. I asked her who she liked the most and she said Eva Mendes was her favorite. I asked her why and she said when Eva had to squeeze behind their booth to get something she was so down-to-earth and really nice. Of course, I’m the jerky friend who asked how they looked in real life. Apparently, in real-life, Eva and Kate are tiny. Larry David’s stick skinny. Liev Schreiber was the only tall star there. Although she wasn’t allowed to take too many photos (not allowed/sorta dorky), she did manage to snap a few. And, surprise, surprise, Kate Hudson even snagged one of her company totes! So, it’s not only you who loves free stuff. Celebrities do too.
