Renegades of the Week: The Kardashian Family

Say what you will about the Kardashian’s, but this family knows business. Last year they raked in more than $65 million dollars and their empire continues to grow. Whether it’s their clothing, perfume, or jewelry, fans are running to their stores to buy their products. What is completely shocking, is that people are still underestimating this family. What do they need to do? Break the billion dollar mark? I’m sure they will soon.

Currently, the Kardashian’s have not one, but four hit shows on the E! channel, “Keeping Up With The Kardashians,” “Kourtney and Khloe Take Miami,” “Kourtney and Kim Take New York,” and “Khloe & Lamar,” and they don’t seem to be slowing down. For those of you who aren’t fans like Jon Hamm, the Mad Men star who recently made comments bashing Kim saying, “Whether it’s Paris Hilton or Kim Kardashian or whoever, stupidity is certainly celebrated. Being a f-cking idiot is a valuable commodity in this culture because you’re rewarded significantly… It doesn’t make sense to me.” Seriously? I love Jon Hamm as much as the next person but who the hell does he think he is? Sure, their fame was jump-started by their reality shows, but trust me, they will be around for years to come and it won’t be because of TV. Oh, and what it Jon Hamm’s net worth you ask? Roughly $15 million, maybe he should learn a lesson or two from the Kardashians.

Between Kim, Kourtney, and Khloe who run the Kardashian Empire, Kris “Momager” Jenner, who helps manage their day to day activities, Bruce Jenner, the olympic motivational speaker, Kylie and Kendall Jenner who are currently modeling, and Rob Kardashian who is involved with different entrepreneurial aspirations- they are clearly taking over. If you think this family is not accomplished, you are clearly living in a cave. Come on out, open your eyes, and take a whiff of the Kardashian success. It’s amazing to watch and extremely inspirational.

Keep at it Kardashians! We love what you’re doing!

I deeply resent the tone of this article, fawning and whimpering over characters who are making no significant addition to society or humanity, while deriding a clearly well-trained and talented movie industry professional. John Hamm was just stating his opinion and I whole-heartedly agree with him, stupidity is indeed rewarded nowadays. If the whole world were full of Kardashians, we would have no John Hamm, no Maya Angelou, no Bill Gates, no President Obama, No Adele, No Nelson Mandela,…. need I go on?

So the Kardashians are making tons of mullah (mostly because people like the writer of the above article are falling all over themselves to hand it to them), that’s great! But money isn’t everything! It seems really very wrong to lambaste and ridicule those who have actually sacrificed time and effort, in order to educate themselves and become leaders in a craft, in business, in politics, in technology or in any of the other things that improve the lives of humanity as a whole.

We need those people, they move the human race forward! People like the Kardashians do nothing except provide cheap entertainment (not for me, by the way). They contribute nothing else to society, therefore society can survive without them; but take away the true captains of industry and see what happens to us then! (Yes, I am a fan of Ayn Rand. Know who that is? LOL).

Yes this family became popular only after Kim started hanging with Paris, But unlike Paris, this family has contributed to society by having their clothing line, perfume, they model, etc. to say they are all stupid is ridculous!!!

You sound very intelligent and informed. However, the truth of life is that everyone has a right to make their dreams come true, EVEN the Kardashians. People can choose to consume or not consume. NO ONE has right to judge anyone, even if you are ‘smarter or more educated, and know what all the current events are in the world.’ They’re not hurting anyone – if you don’t like them, don’t put your energy on disliking them, because that’s actually what MAKES them even bigger. Some people choose to express themselves by living their life like the Kardashians, some people choose to live their life like Aung Suu Kyi, neither is right neither is wrong because all we’re asked to do in this life is to BE OURSELVES…and that’s all the Kardashians are doing, being themselves..and obviously, alot of people like who they are. Anyways, somehow, life always balances things out.

Aung SAN Suu kyi. San is a part of her name too, you know.

I don’t even know why you’re being so dramatic with just a comment. I think he made a point about some very smart people in this world not getting enough acknowledgement and fame they deserve (Though I’m sure he could’ve done that in a less menacing way)
Because let’s be honest – the Kardashians are not one of those people. I mean, they sure know how to get rich and famous, and I don’t mean that they don’t deserve it. My understanding is that you have to work hard for what you get – except for the 0.1% of the world population who cannot be bothered to lifted their fingers but still have fortune to spend – and the Kardashians are working hard, though the method might not please everyone like Shuwaram.

Yeah, I don’t even know why I’m commenting on this post. It’s not like anyone is going to read mine :/ Meh.

And by the way, Shuwaram, since you are a very intelligent person, (you read Ayn Rand afterall-yes I- a Kardashian fan know who that is and have actually read a book or two)…my suggestion is you use your intelligence to SHARE and UNITE with others, whoever they may be, from ALL walks of life…don’t use your intelligence to show how much smarter you are, put other people down for how they live their life, name drop the authors you read… you are dividing, seperating – yourself and others… We can all learn from one another. Like they say, with great power comes great responsiblity. You have the power..you could even reach out to Kim Kardashian and educate her on what’s goin on in the world, your cause, whatever, and then maybe just maybe – she would be informed-and with her influence on so many people, that knowledge would be passed on ten fold…maybe it’s not likely that that would happen, but you do understand what I’m trying to say. We should unite with one another, instead of divide ourselves. Unless you’ve walked in another person’s shoes, you really really can’t say anything about how they live their life…
