Renegade Chicks of the Week: The 2012 US Women’s Gymnastics Team
The 2012 Olympics are just around the corner and as the Olympic Trials come to a close, we are happy to announce the dynamic 2012 U.S. Women’s Gymnastics Olympic team. A big congratulations goes out to Gabby Douglas, Jordyn Wieber, Aly Raisman, McKayla Maroney and Kyla Ross! We admire these extremely strong women for both their determination and hard work and we will be following their every move over the next couple of months.
After seeing the following GIFs that The Atlantic Wire posted, we couldn’t resist sharing them with you. They really demonstrate the greatness of each girl. Check out a sampling below:
Jordyn Wieber: Wieber is undeniably the best woman gymnast in the world and has won countless gold medals in her career. In the individual all-around competition alone, she earned seven gold medals. Wieber has years of experience and is ready to use her talents to bring home gold in London.

Aly Raisman: At 18 years old, Raisman is the most experienced of the group. With her experience, she has won gold for both the balance beam and floor exercise at the 2012 Visa Championships and is ready to kick butt in London with her fellow teammates.

McKayla Maroney: As a vault specialist, we have all come to know what to expect from Maroney. She has won her fair share of gold medals for the vault and we know this 16 year old is a powerhouse. We’re ready for this renegade chick to spring her way to olympic gold.

Gabby Douglas: Douglas is unstoppable. This past week, she shocked the world when she beat out world all-around champion, Wieber, at the Olympic Trials. Uneven bars are her forte and in the past, she has won gold at the 2012 Pacific Rim Championships, 2012 Visa Championships and 2010 Pan American Championships. Not too shabby. We’re excited to see what Douglas brings to the table in London.

Kyla Ross: Is the youngest on the Olympic team, but has proved herself time and time again, especially when she won the individual all-around at the 2010 Pan American Championships and when she won the gold medal on the balance beam at the 2012 Pacific Rim Championships. Ross Rocks!

These women are true Renegade Chicks. They inspire us to work harder and to pursue our dreams and we can’t thank them enough for that. Good luck in London, ladies! We’ll be watching!
