Life Lessons from “The Bachelorette”

Ok guys, so I know at the end of last season of The Bachelor my fellow Renegade Chick, Scarlett, gave us a recap of things that we could take away from the outcome and why Ben chose Crazy Courtney.

Ever the romantic, I am always obsessed with any and every TV show where people are looking for love.   Now, let it be known that I have been part of Team Jef since day one.  I’ve always had a soft spot for the dorky type with a mop of hair and a big heart—but last night as I watched the Jef and Emily talk about their happy little family, my heart was breaking for Arie!  Here are a couple of things that I think we can all learn from this season of The Bachelorette, and hopefully never end up broken hearted like Arie again!

1. Love potions don’t work.  Seriously.  It’s unfortunate that Arie had to learn this one the hard way, guess he’s been reading a little too much Harry Potter.

2.Flying across the country to leave your journal on your ex’s front door step is probably not a good idea.  Especially when they are going to have the opportunity to tell everyone about it on live television a few weeks later.

3. A strong physical connection—although very fun—is not the most important ingredient in a lasting relationship.  Jef waited a lot longer to kiss Emily than Arie did, and even declined the overnight date before Emily could even bring it up.  What a classy guy!

Last but not least, nice guys (and gals) don’t always finish last—Congrats to Jef and Emily, I have high hopes for these two!  I don’t know about you guys, but I’m pumped about Bachelor Pad tonight as well, don’t forget to tune in!

XOXO

Sophia
