Leather Leggings, Not Your Mother’s Pants… Actually, No One’s Pants…

Leggings are hot. Period. Let’s take a trip down memory lane on iconic legging moments:

This fashion has come a long way from active wear and LL’s 6126 line (RIP); leather leggings are so hot for Fall/Winter 2012 and they are oozing glamour and rock every look.

Most of the images here are styled so that full leggings can be seen from top to bottom (and as pants, again, NO!).  Some choice ways to style these investment pieces:

1. Leather leggings can overhaul business attire, paired with a crisp top, blazer, and pumps

2. Rock out by pairing leather leggings with a graphic tee, and a pair of studded heels or booties

3. 2 for the price of one, “Wow, is she wearing leather leggings in Starbucks?” everyday look:

- A cozy tunic or a long tee, infinity scarf, and flats

- Long-sleeved slub tee, boyfriend cardigan, and flat boots

Leather is a luxury fabric, an investment piece for which the cost can have one eating peanuts and ramen for the month (Yum!); thankfully, Topshop has a great “must” for the leather legging “lust:”

Public Service Announcement: Do you know someone who wears leggings as pants?  Chances are good that you see a “leggings-as-pants” wearer when you are out on the street or in a social setting.  For the rest of you, your chances of being the person who is wearing the “leggings-as-pants” just went up by 300%.  Yes, that’s right, you are 3x more likely to wear leggings as pants then before given the upcoming fall/winter weather and the desire to wear an over-the-knee boot.  Don’t be part of this statistic!  Look out for pairing your leggings with a too-short shirt and share the information.  This message brought to you by Meghan Shah of Renegade Chicks.
