This past Sunday, the long awaited season finale of E!’s “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” aired and yes, I was one of the 3.6 million people watching Kourtney Kardashian, 33, give birth to her new baby girl Penelope Scotland Disick. As scripted as the show might seem at times, this was definitely a moment of reality as Kourtney literally pulled Penelope out of her vagina. Thoughts, anyone?
Personally, I have three fears in life: public speaking, death and oh yea, giving birth. I know all about public speaking – been there, done that, but for me and many other women, as many times as we’ve heard about it or seen it in health class (and now on The Kardashians), giving birth is still a mystery. I don’t want to scare anyone, but the fact that there are basically two options, your vagina tearing or your stomach having to be ripped open (kill me now on both accounts), scares the living crap out of me. It was refreshing to see Kourtney not only give birth, but see her still get scared even though she has already had one child.
Giving birth is a natural thing, or so they tell us, but the “shocker” came when Kourtney grabbed little Penelope out of her vagina. I don’t know why everyone was shocked, she did this for Mason too. Fashion & Style reported twitter users said, ”Ew i just watched Kourtney Kardashian pull out her fetus” and ”Seeing as nothing is sacred to this family maybe next season we will see them going to the [bathroom].” For me, it was tough to watch, but educational.
What do you think? Would you give birth Kourtney Kardashian style? Would you ever give birth on reality TV? Watch Kourtney give birth to Penelope below:
