Fall 2012 Color Obsession: Oxblood!
Oxblood, “red’s badass cousin,” (Glamour.com) is Fall 2012’s luxe new color. It can also go by the name “chianti” and if anything is named after wine, I’m a huge fan. The intensity of the color brings out the best in all skin tones and can be celebrated through clothes, shoes, and even make-up. The versatility gives everyone the option to experience this gorgeous hue.
Some of my favorite pieces I’ve found so far include:
Velvet by Graham & Spencer Oceana Chunky Melange Turtleneck Sweater with leather leggings is my new go-to-outfit. Cozy and chic, I recommend adding Starbucks’ Pumpkin Spiced Latte for the ultimate fall experience.
Break out the black leather boots and stockings with this Tibi Draped Shift Dress and wear this on a fall date night, matching wine in hand.
Pencil skirts are one of the most adaptable pieces in a closet and in this color and texture combination, the Tibi Bonded Vinyl Pencil Skirt, is in the words of Rachel Zoe, “BA-NA-NAS.” Pair with any of the following: standard crisp white button-down, luxe black jersey crew-neck, neutral-colored blouse, and/or a white tank with cozy black cardigan.
On the flip side: ASOS Pencil Skirt with Leather Look Trim is a fantastic alternative to the Tibi skirt and can be styled in the same way.
Shoes are a great way wear a trend without going overboard, these Paul Green ‘Nicky’ Loafers are a 2 for 1 favorite with both style and color.
Last, but certainly not least, make-up is a fantastic way to incorporate trends without breaking your wallet. Please note: the vampy lip and nail look is back!
Add to your Sephora points and VIB status with either this YSL Rouge Volupte Silky Sensual Radiant Lipstick in Forbidden Burgandy or Make Up For Ever’s Rouge Artist Natural Lipstick in #N50 Aubergine.
Keep your hands fall-fresh with Essie’s Velvet Voyeur and shiny topcoat.
Hope you enjoy these as much as I do!
