Coming Tomorrow: Reflected in You by Sylvia Day, A Crossfire Novel
We are just days away from the highly anticipated release of Reflected in You, the sequel to Bared to You, and the second book in the Crossfire Trilogy by Sylvia Day. The Kindle Edition of the novel is currently available, but the official release date for the book is October 23, 2012. Like many #fiftyfangirls, I picked up Bared to You after ending my love affair with Christian Grey and finding myself with nothing comparable to read. Now I anxiously await for today to pass so that I can once again be reunited with Gideon Cross, and I am sure I am not alone.
**SPOILER ALERT** (For those that have not read Bared to You)
In the first installment of the Gideon and Eva saga, we met our protagonists: Eva Trammell, a recent graduate who moved to New York City to begin work as an assistant to an ad agency executive, and Gideon Cross, the good-looking and charismatic millionaire who also happens to own the Crossfire building and the company that just hired Eva. Their imminent meeting results in unparallel chemistry, and a relationship quickly ensues. Through these events, we learn more about the characters themselves, specifically the childhood baggage each carries. It quickly becomes clear that Eva suffered some sort of trauma as a child and as a result, has an overbearing and overprotective mother. Gideon also seems to have some sort of past which manifests itself in nightmares and his need for control in so many aspects of his life. Eva eventually shares the skeletons in her closet with Gideon; however, Gideon remains mum about his. This is surprising considering Eva’s value of transparency in her relationships and her acceptance of Gideon keeping secrets, which brings us to wonder, will their relationship be full-force ahead in Reflected in You under these circumstances?
Bared to You ended in surprisingly good spirits, with Gideon coming to Eva’s rescue after Eva’s roommate and best friend, Clay Taylor, puts her in an uncomfortable position when she comes home to find an orgy taking place in her own home. On the way to Gideon’s apartment, Eva reflects on her relationship, thinking “Gideon and I still had so much work ahead of us. As much as we loved each other, it was no guarantee that we’d survive our personal wounds. But we communicated, we were honest with each other, and God knew we were both too stubborn to quit without a fight.” While I cannot wait to pick up Reflected in You, I can’t help but want to remain in this happy place with Eva and Gideon.
So what can we expect from Reflected in You? Turmoil and obstacles for this relationship are likely imminent, but hopefully, many of our burning questions will be answered. What is Gideon’s big secret? How will Gideon handle the women of his past, particularly Corinne? Will Eva continue to run at any indication of the relationship getting tough? And what about our supporting characters? Will Clay get it together? Will Eva’s boss, Mark, and his partner Steven, remain in the state of bliss that Eva loves to be around?
Regardless of where Eva and Gideon’s relationship ends up, one thing is for sure, we are in for another steamy page-turner.
