Bon Jovi Has Heartfelt Words For NYC Concerning Hurricane Sandy Recovery

Millions have been affected by Hurricane Sandy and now it’s time to help those in need! If you haven’t already read our article about different ways you can help, click here to do so. In these uncertain times, where millions are without power and houses have been destroyed, it’s important to have a wise voice in the crowd who brings hope to everyone. New Jersey rock star, Bon Jovi, has turned out to be one of these people. Check out his words of hope below:

IN THE DAYS AND WEEKS FOLLOWING SEPTEMBER 11TH, THE WORLD WATCHED IN DISBELIEF AND TOOK NEW YORK CITY AND AMERICA INTO THEIR HEARTS.

WE FELT THE WORLD WRAP IT’S ARMS AROUND US, FORGETTING ALL OUR DIFFERENCES, AS WE CAME TOGETHER AS ONE.

ONE WITH THE GRIEF & THE SADNESS. ONE WITH THE CONFUSION & UNCERTAINTY.
ONE AS WE REBUILT NOT ONLY THE BUILDINGS BUT ALSO OUR LIVES AND OUR DREAMS.

ONCE AGAIN, THE EYES OF THE WORLD ARE UPON US AS WE WAKE UP TO THE DEVASTATION OF HURRICANE SANDY.

AND ONCE AGAIN WE WILL HAVE HURDLES TO CLEAR AND CHALLENGES WE WILL HAVE TO FACE.

WHEN PATIENCE IS LOST… WHEN IT SEEMS HELPLESS… WHEN YOU’RE IN NEED AND YOU FEEL AS IF YOU’RE ALONE… KNOW YOU ARE NOT ALONE.

WE’RE ALL IN THIS. TOGETHER.

WE CAN AND WE WILL REBUILD.

WE HAVE PROVEN, TIME AND AGAIN, THAT IT IS THE SPIRIT OF OUR PEOPLE THAT DEFINES US.

RESILIENCE IS OUR MIDDLE NAME. EVEN MOTHER NATURE IS NO MATCH FOR THAT.

IN THE COMING DAYS AND WEEKS AHEAD IF YOU ARE ABLE, VOLUNTEER. IF YOU CAN , DONATE.

ANYTHING YOU CAN DO TO HELP, NO MATTER HOW SMALL, WILL MAKE AN IMPACT.

THE DAYS AHEAD ARE GOING TO BE DIFFICULT. BUT THERE IS NO CHALLENGE THAT WE CAN’T MEET TOGETHER.

THIS IS WHO WE ARE… AND THIS IS WHAT WE DO AS NEW YORKERS, AS NEW JERSEY-ANS… AND AS AMERICANS.

WE HELP OTHERS WHO ARE IN NEED.

WE MAY NOT HAVE ELECTRICITY BUT WE HAVE POWER…

I definitely got the chills after reading this. It’s easy to forget how the country came together in the past for other national disasters, but now, let’s remember, let’s help those in need, and let’s use our power for good. Thanks, Bon Jovi, for that important reminder.
